1986 Redline Mountain Bike

1986 Redline

Not much is known about this bike other than it is considered exceptionally rare.

After an extensive amount of research on this bike, I met a former employee of Redline who in 1986 worked a tradeshow booth for Redline at a Las Vegas convention. They told me  this model was at the tradeshow in Las Vegas, but it disappeared soon after and was never herd of again. This bike may have been unofficially released as a market test sample and was soon discontinued.

I purchased this bike from an individual who purchased several abandoned storage lockers in Southern Nevada.

The Component group is Suntour. The frame is cold rolled straight gauge steel and it weighed between 36+/- pounds. It rides like a tank and it handles exceptionally poor off road. This bike is more of a novelty than functional mountain bike.

The most unique feature of the bike was the BMX style reinforcement welded on the bottom of the down tube and head tube.

(What makes this bike unique.)
