1983-1984 Diamond Back Trail Streak
The Diamond Back Trail Streak was an entry level
mountain bike manufactured 1983/1984 by Centurion
in Taiwan.
It was a heavy straight tube Cr-Mo 4130 steel frame.
The geometry of the frame had an extra long rear
triangle which made it very stable on the trail. It
had braze on mounts for fenders and 2 water bottle
cages.
It shipped in blue with silver trim.
The chrome diamond shaped handle bars, which are
unique to Diamond Backs, are similar to the original
Ridge Runner's, except they no longer have an
attached brake cable stay.
The front and rear dropouts are generic.
The forks look identical to what was used on the
Specialized Stumpjumper.
